Ryan Lochte Suspended For 10 Months

Lochte sparked international headlines when he claimed that individuals with a police badge pulled over a taxi carrying him and the other U.S. swimmers and cocked a gun to his head demanding money early on the morning of August 14, 2016. Brazilian police later said the swimmers had vandalized the station and were confronted by armed security guards when they tried to leave. He will be suspended for 10 months, will not receive the $25,000 bonus from the USOC awards, and will not be eligible for his $3,250 monthly stipend from USA Swimming.
